Hello, thanks for reading this in advance. Let me guess, the pride in some people will not allow them to finish reading this. What do I mean by are we truly Christians? Here we go again, another one judging or trying to act like he is better than us. Well, that does not change my question. Are we truly Christian? A simple search of “Christian” on google defines a Christian as a person who follow or adheres to Christianity, a monotheistic Abrahamic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. A lot of big words, but you and I get the point. To be a Christian, you must be following or adhering to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. “Adheres” means to stick, cling, hold fast, or attach to. Straight off the bat, a lot of people will fail to meet this definition of Christianity. And guess what? They still claim to b Christians. To be a Christian, you must be Christ-like. Not just merely through your words, but Christ’s life and teachings must reflect through your life. To set the record straight, we can only strive to be Christ-like and cannot fully be like Christ. This is because of our flesh. Our flesh still lust after the things of this word.
I have had conversations with, and met a lot of “Christian”. You ask them why are you are Christian? The two general answers are that “I go to Church, or I was born into a Christian Family”. You try to get them to give a bit more for why they claim to be Christ-like, but no luck. Listen, although all this helps, this does not mean you are a Christian. Take me as an example, I was born into a Christian family. My parent were serving in the church, my grandparents were serve in the church, I went to a Christian School, I sang in church choir as a child and a teenager, acted in the dramas and try to follow everything accordingly. Talk about having a resume of what it takes to be a Christian now-adays. I had that. But guess what, I was still not a Christian. I found that out when I was 18 years, after high school.
Not until I read my Bible and found out what a horrible human being I was. More on that later. Listen, being a Christian is no game. You don’t wake up a Christian today and tomorrow is different. You don’t cling on being Christ-like and the same time going out there to commit all types of wicked act. You don’t go out there claiming to be Christ-like and listening to worldly music, speaking foul, making wicked jokes, committing fornication around, getting drunk, watching pornography. Listen again, you cannot be a Christian and you look up to worldly celebrities as your heroes. You cannot claim to adhere to Christ’s teachings and His life and still aspire to be like your favourite movie star or Instagram model. Being a Christian is not a game. This is not a lifestyle choice or what you practice when you feel like. Being a Christian is life is everything to us. We have to hold on to this faith in Christ like we would kill for it. Truth be told, Christians are hard to find nowadays, yet everyone out there claims to be Christians.
Will be posting part two soon.
Thanks for reading and KEEP THE FAITH STRONG!!!!!!!!!!
